Our Story
A Little Past, A Living Present, A Bold Future
The Haus Of Legends was officially established in 2016, but its roots reach much deeper — into a lifetime of creativity, resilience, and community service.
Founded by artist and creative director Iain Smillie, The Haus emerged from a desire to build the creative space he wished had existed when he was younger — a place where artists and dreamers could discover themselves, express themselves, and grow into their full creative power.
Over the years, the Haus has grown into something larger than a personal creative project. It has become a platform for art, empowerment, and community leadership.
Among its earliest milestones was helping produce the first Queer Prom in the San Gabriel Valley, creating a safe and affirming celebration for LGBTQ+ youth who had never experienced a prom where they could simply be themselves.
That spirit of community building continued when The Haus Of Legends helped sponsor and establish the San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ+ Center in partnership with Pasadena Pride, located in the historic Prince Erik Hall in Arcadia, California.
These moments were never about publicity or recognition.
They were about creating the spaces that many of us never had growing up.
The Haus continues to evolve today as a creative studio, artistic brand, and cultural platform producing original artwork, creative collections, writing, and community-focused initiatives.
