Why These Changes Are Happening

Over the past year, major shifts in global trade policy have dramatically affected the cost of doing business for small creative studios like ours. Many of our print providers—especially for mugs, apparel, and certain stationery items—are located outside the United States. With new tariffs and import regulations, the cost of shipping in many cases now exceeds the cost of the product itself.

This is simply not sustainable for us or fair to you.

The Impact of Trump’s Tariffs & the End of the U.S. De Minimis Exemption

As of August 29, 2025, the United States is ending the De Minimis Exemption for low-value imports under $800. Here’s what that means in plain terms:

Every package entering the U.S.—regardless of value—must have duties calculated, collected, and paid before it is allowed entry.
Merchants must display the full landed cost, including duties, at checkout.
Some postal carriers are applying temporary flat-rate import charges of $80–$200 per item, depending on the country of origin.
Many carriers and postal systems have temporarily suspended U.S.-bound shipments until their compliance systems are updated.

This upheaval has caused unpredictable delays, cost increases, and logistical challenges for both creators and customers.

Because the majority of certain Haus items are produced internationally, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to retire those product lines permanently on December 31, 2025.

Looking Ahead: Evolving the Haus for 2026 and Beyond

Instead of letting these changes hinder our creativity, we’re using this moment as a chance to evolve.

This shift allows us to:

Refine our product catalog
Focus on U.S.-based, high-quality print partners
Expand collections that better reflect my core artistic vision
Improve fulfillment speed and reliability
Streamline the entire shopping experience

Going forward, The Haus of Legends will concentrate even more on premium artwork, limited editions, collectors’ pieces, and fully U.S.-produced creations.
